The Return of Engine 2000!

The Seashore Lines is excited to present a special, one of a kind event….THE RETURN OF ENGINE 2000!

Pennsylvania – Reading Seashore Lines GP38 Number 2000 was built by General Motors - Electro Motive Division (GM - EMD) for the PRSL of Camden, NJ, during December of 1967.  Locomotive number 2000 was the class (first) GP38 of 15 GP38's built for the PRSL. Locomotive number 2000 was later acquired by Conrail, and renumbered 7660.  During its 16 year service life under PRSL and CR operations, the 2000 accumulated thousands of miles pulling freight trains throughout southern New Jersey.  During December of 2023, PRSL 2000 will enter its 56th year of service! 

The CM Seashore Lines recently returned Engine No. 2000 to its home rails in southern New Jersey!

The Seashore Lines is proud to announce that on Saturday, September 16, 2023, Engine No. 2000 will be the centerpiece of an exciting event taking place at the Richland Village Train Station!

The Seashore Lines will operate two special air conditioned excursion trains on this date, departing at 12 noon and 3:00pm. A brief mid-trip layover will be provided for passengers to detrain and photograph Engine No. 2000 at the Weymouth Township Municipal Building. Additional photo opportunities will be provided at the Richland Village Train Station.

In addition to the photo opportunities, special Engine No. 2000 merchandise will be available for purchase. All passengers riding the excursion train will be provided with a special commemorative ticket and information pamphlet, and Full – Fare Ticket Holders will also receive a special, commemorative gift (valued at $25.00)! A food vendor at Richland adds to the fun of this exciting event.

ACCOMODATIONS:

This event features General Admission accommodations. Adult Tickets are available for purchase for $27.95, and Children's Tickets (Ages 2 to 12) are  $13.95. Infants are always free on all Seashore Lines trains!

Air Conditioned seating will be available in PRSL Budd RDC coach, seating will also be available in the Braddock Inn, and the New York Central 38
